Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos recreate wedding photo nearly 28 years after tying the knot
Back to where it all began.
Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos returned to Chapel of the Bells in Las Vegas this week nearly 28 years after saying “I do” inside the Sin City staple.
The couple took a trip down memory lane on “Live with Kelly and Mark” Wednesday while revisiting the chapel, even recreating a sweet photo from their big day.
“Viva Las Vegas ✨ Then ➡️ Now,” Ripa captioned an old photo of the pair standing nose to nose at the altar on Instagram.
In the throwback snap, the then 25-year-olds looked every bit in love as they held onto each other’s waists during the ceremony.

Ripa, 53, also posted a present-day picture of her and Consuelos, 52, standing in the same spot while striking the same loving pose.
Their visit to the wedding venue was captured for a “Live” segment, with Consuelos admitting that he got emotional while driving to the Bells.
“I started getting sweaty,” he joked.
“We were 25-year-olds. Our son [Michael] is 26,” he pointed out. “It doesn’t make any sense. In a city where people roll the dice every day here, this is one of the safest bets I’ve made.”

However, the lovebirds — who are both ordained ministers — made the most of their time at the chapel, offering to marry one of the couples waiting to walk down the aisle.
In typical fashion, Ripa and Consuelos laced some of their humor into the script before officially announcing the couple as husband and wife.

In June, the “Live!” co-hosts revealed they’ll never renew their vows because it’s like the “kiss of death” for a marriage.
“We are very superstitious about vow renewals,” Ripa told the live studio audience at the time, joking that the ceremony should come with “divorce papers.”
“I just feel like a vow renewal is a pre-divorce,” she added.

“It’s like, ‘We’re not getting along … I know what we should do!’”
Consuelos — who also shares daughter Lola and son Joaquin with Ripa — doubled down on his wife’s sentiments, joking that vow renewals are always the result of a husband’s mistake.
“And I’m not talking about ‘leaved the toilet seat up,’” the “Riverdale” star said. “I’m talking about messed up!”
